83-Year-Old Grandma Still Attends Summer Camp for Kids With Diabetes

Those who have been to Camp Sweeney say it's better than Disney World. That may seem like a tall order, until you listen to their experiences. The Gainesville, Texas-based camp was started back in 1950 specifically to help kids who were living with diabetes learn to manage the disease. Imogene Parker, one of their first campers, started attending the following year. "They gave me the initiative to go on and to control my diabetes and to live a normal life, and I have," the 83-year-old told InsideEdition.com. As InsideEdition.com's Stephanie Officer explains, "Grandma Imogene" has made a lasting impression on the past seven generations of campers.
