Amazon’s Use of the Name Alexa Made Some Women Change Their Names

Four women named Alexa told Inside Edition that they’ve resorted to changing their names after the adoption of their name by Amazon for its virtual assistant. For years, Amazon Alexa devices have been the butt of jokes on “Saturday Night Live” and even in Amazon’s own commercials - but these women don’t find anything about it funny. One woman said she has started introducing herself as Lex, while another has chosen to go by her middle name, Juliana, when not speaking with family or coworkers.
