What It's Like to Compete in a Hobby Horse Championship

The first-ever hobby horse competition in the U.S. took place in Michigan. For these competitors, hobby horsing is a serious sport. During the competition, the teens mimic equestrian activities by riding and performing various movements with their hobby horses. The sport is a big deal in Finland, Sweden, Germany and the U.K. At the inaugural event in Almont, Michigan, 120 contestants participated.
