2 Junior Lifeguards Rescue Pilot After Plane Crash

After a small plane crashed into the ocean at Huntington Beach, two junior lifeguards rescued the pilot. Fifteen-year-olds Jake Shaffer and Aidan Arie were competing in a junior lifeguard championship when the crash occurred. One teen grabbed a board and paddled out to the plane. The other swam, racing as fast as he could. Adult lifeguards also joined the rescue. The pilot was treated for minor injuries.
