The events unfolding around the world have some thinking the apocalypse might actually be coming. It’s not just the coronavirus epidemic that’s got people on edge. Volcanic eruptions in New Zealand, a plague of locusts in East Africa, and the devastating wildfires that ravaged Australia and South America all have some people believing that the end of times is imminent. Columbia University religion Professor Ari Goldman says that talk of the end is foolish, but not uncommon in times of crisis.
