‘Last Wild Horse’ Foal Is Born in California

A foal in San Diego, California, is bearing a big responsibility. That’s because it may carry the fate of its species on its little shoulders. It’s one of a critically endangered species known as a Przewalski’s horse. They tend to be shorter and stockier than domesticated horse breeds. They’re sometimes called ‘The Last Wild Horse.’ For the past several decades, this rare mammal has survived almost entirely in human captivity.
