Elderly Mom Recovering After Son Rescues Her From Flooding

The senior woman rescued from Hurricane Ian-caused flooding by her son spoke to Inside Edition from her hospital bed. Karen Lauder is 84 years old, and lives in Naples, Florida. The grandmother was trapped during the storm, and her son and grandson had to swim to rescue her. Lauder is being treated for bacterial infections from the dirty floodwater. “I told my son more than once I love him,” she said. “I appreciate him more than he knows.”
