Fans, Players in University of Iowa Stadium Turn to Wave at Kids in Hospital

One gesture brings together tens of thousands of football fans each week and is known as “The Wave.” It happens at every home game at the University of Iowa right after the first quarter. Everyone in the stadium, more than 70,000 people, turns and waves up to the kids at The Stead Family Children's Hospital that overlooks the stadium. Many of the kids are fighting for their lives, and “The Wave” is a way to pick up their spirits.
