Former NFL Player Investigates Wrongful Convictions With Ex-Prosecutor
January 12, 2018
Former NFL linebacker Brian Banks was wrongfully convicted of rape when he was 16. After he was released, "I vowed to myself," Banks told InsideEdition.com, to "get involved in the awareness and activism of the space of wrongful convictions, trying to put it to an end, if possible." To fulfill that pledge, Banks has teamed up with Loni Coombs, a former prosecutor, to investigate possible cases of wrongful conviction. Their work is profiled in a new series on Oxygen called "Final Appeal."
