Formula E Car Breaks Speed Record
July 28, 2023
Guinness World Records confirms McLaren Formula E driver Jake Hughes just smashed the indoor land speed world record by more than 33 miles per hour. It happened during a head-to-head duel race against Mahindra Racing’s Lucas di Grassi at ExCeL London stadium. Unfortunately, it was a closed event, so no fans were in attendance. Hughes hit a top speed of 135.9 miles per hour in less than a quarter mile. He was driving the Genbeta development car, a modified version of the electric championship's Gen3 race car.
