‘Evergreen’ Is Made of 110,000 Old Plastic Bottles

A Christmas tree in Lebanon puts a new spin on ‘evergreen.’ That's because it’s made of over 100,000 old green plastic bottles. The tannenbaum towers over a lake in the northern district of Zgharta. It’s meant to call attention to recycling and our reliance on single-use items. One of the exhibit’s organizers told Reuters they wanted to show “a decoration made out of recyclable material that we usually throw away in our life without paying attention.”
