Man Who Tackled Alleged Shoplifter Worries He Might Face Assault Charges

Things escalated quickly at an Alameda, California, Walgreens store when a bystander decided to take the law into his own hands and confront an alleged shoplifter. The man, who wanted to only be identified as Kevin, asked another person in the store to “film me,” as the alleged shoplifter walked toward the exit. Once he got outside, Kevin tackled the man, proclaiming a “citizen’s arrest.” Walgreens declined to press charges on the man he tackled, but Kevin fears he may face assault charges.
