Miracle on the Hudson: How ‘Sully’ Safely Landed Plane in River 10 Years Ago

On Jan. 15, 2009, US Airways pilot Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger shocked the world as he successfully landed a plane in the Hudson River just shortly after takeoff. Both of the plane’s engines were determined to have been disabled by a bird strike. Sully was hailed a hero after all 155 people on board the aircraft survived and were rescued from the cold water. Inside Edition, which has an office overlooking the river, was the first news crew to arrive on the scene.
