Trailblazing supermodel Beverly Johnson, who in 1974 was the first Black woman on the cover of “Vogue,” says that the fashion industry isn’t doing enough to address its own racism and lack of diversity. She has suggested they follow her guideline: that at least two Black professionals should be interviewed for any job opening in the industry. “Vogue” editor-in-chief Anna Wintour wrote a letter to staff acknowledging Vogue’s historic lack of diversity.
