New York Nurse Defends Photos Showing Nurses Wearing Trash Bags

A distraught nurse says she’s putting her job on the line and is speaking out after a disturbing photo of her colleagues wearing garbage bags in the hospital sent shock waves across the country. Dina Torres, a nurse at Mt. Sinai West Hospital in Manhattan where the photo was taken, says staff don’t have the protection they need. When asked if she was risking her career by speaking out, she said, “Absolutely. I have nothing to lose by my life,” noting that she could be the disease’s next victim.
