    NYC Skyline Flashes an Electric Blue, Sparking Curiosity and Chaos

    The New York City skyline lit up electric blue Thursday night, a spectacle that could be seen from as far as 25 miles away. Witnesses thought it was everything from a fire to aliens to terrorism. Turns out the light emanated from an electrical power plant run by Con Edison in Astoria, Queens. A company spokesperson says a fire affected transformers that caused a dip in power.
