Oregon Man Finds Detached Alaska Airlines Plane Door Plug in His Backyard

A door plug that blew off an airliner in mid-air was found. An Oregon school teacher discovered the 63-pound piece in his backyard. The door that blew off the plane is known as a door plug, which is designed to replace an emergency exit so that extra seats can be installed. People living in the Cedar Hills neighborhood of Portland are searching their backyards for other missing debris. Investigators from the National Transportation and Safety Board are now examining every inch of the plane.
