Would You Pay $30 Million for a 1,000-Year 0ld Bible?

February 16, 2023

A holy book, more than 1,000 years old, is expected to fetch tens of millions at auction. Sotheby’s is selling what’s viewed as “the oldest and most complete Hebrew Bible ever discovered.” The book is now called the Codex Sassoon, and its fragile pages offer spiritual lessons that serve as the foundation of both Judaism and Christianity. This Bible was handwritten on 792 pages of parchment. The highest bidder is expected to drop anywhere from $30 million to $50 million to take it home.
