Painter of ‘Buff’ Trump Portrait Says Donald ‘Wanted It Cheaper’
Remember that famous portrait of Donald Trump looking dashing in a tennis outfit, from way back before he was president? Now we're learning the story behind the painting straight from the artist, Ralph Cowan. Trump commissioned the painting in 1989 and right away the artist decided to do away with the business suits and ties that had been Trump’s signature look for decades. Cowan opted for a sweater, and he says Trump “loved it when he saw it.”
