    Parents of American Trevor Reed Held in Russia Beg White House to Help Free Him

    The parents of an American imprisoned in a Russian jail found themselves outside the White House trying to get President Biden’s attention. “We’re desperate,” said the mother of Trevor Reed, 29, who is currently on a hunger strike while suffering from tuberculosis and a fractured rib. Reed is serving a nine-year sentence for assault, which U.S. officials say is a bogus charge. The Reeds got Biden’s attention three weeks ago when they held up a sign about their son as his motorcade passed by.
