Parents Say ‘Mermaid’ Bathing Suit Almost Caused Children to Drown

An Instagram-worthy mermaid bathing suit that goes over kids’ legs, transforming their feet into fins, is causing some parents to worry whether they are safe to wear, as some families report watching their young children struggle and nearly drown when wearing the suit. Adam Lisberg, a dad from New York, shared photos of his 5-year-old daughter Annabell wearing the monofin. He said his daughter nearly drowned. Swimming instructor Kelli Stryker spoke with Inside Edition about the suits.
