On the morning of September 11, 2001, photojournalist David Handschuh rushed to lower Manhattan to document an incident at one of the Twin Towers. As the events unfolded, Handschuh continued to take pictures, until he was severely injured in the collapse of the South Tower. He told Inside Edition Digital, “I owe my life to people who didn't know me, who put themselves at risk to take me out from under a pile of rubble, to carry me back to safety.”
