Pope Francis Calls for Climate Action

Greta Thunberg was in court again. The climate activist was answering charges of allegedly disobeying a Swedish police order. Authorities there say she did not leave a climate protest in the city of Malmo when she was ordered to. Pope Francis, head of the Roman Catholic Church, said on July 23, many countries are experiencing “extreme climatic events,” like “abnormal heat waves and devastating fires.”
