Pregnant Cow Trapped in Mud Rescued by Backhoe in Missouri
May 17, 2018
An unlucky cow in Missouri got an unrequested mud bath Wednesday, and found itself trapped. By the time rescue crews arrived, the wayward bovine had sunk up to its shoulders in the mud pit. Since most cows weigh more than a thousand pounds, it took some muscle to help free the cow. Rescuers had to bring in a backhoe to help dig it out. Very gently, the backhoe operator nudged the cow with its bucket, while other rescuers pulled on a rope wrapped around the cow's midsection.
