Alec Baldwin Charges in ‘Rust’ Shooting to Be Dismissed

Prosecutors in the “Rust” fatal shooting case plan to drop all criminal charges against Alec Baldwin, attorneys for the actor say. "We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin," says Baldwin's lawyer. Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins died after being accidentally shot with a prop gun on the “Rust” set in 2021. The news broke as Baldwin headed to Montana to finish filming “Rust.” Although the charges are expected to be dropped, they could be reinstated.
