Retired Boston Baseball Great David Ortiz Recovering From Gunshot Wound

David Ortiz, also known by his nickname "Big Papi,” was shot at close range in the back in the Dominican Republic on Sunday.  He's currently in the intensive care unit after undergoing surgery to remove part of his colon. The suspect was immediately surrounded by the crowd at the club and beaten before the police arrived. Former President Obama showed his support by tweeting a photo of himself with Ortiz from six years ago at the White House with the message, “Get well soon Papi.”
