Sesame Street Mourns Emilio Delgado, Actor Who Played Luis Since 1971

Emilio Delgado, a beloved member of the "Sesame Street" family, has passed away. The character of Luis Rodriguez, the guitar-playing owner of the show's Fix it Shop, was played by Delgado from 1971 until 2015. Sesame Workshop said he was ”At the forefront of representation, Emilio proudly laid claim to the 'record for the longest-running role for a Mexican-American in a TV series.” Emilio Delgado was 81 years old.
