    Severely Wounded Army Vet Finds New Purpose in Marathon Racing

    Travis Wood was a staff sergeant in the United States Army for more than 13 years. He was severely injured in southern Afghanistan in 2007, when his vehicle hit three anti-tank mines. After more than 80 surgeries and years of rehabilitation, he’s found purpose while competing in marathons. He does so with the help of an organization called Achilles Freedom Team. Travis told InsideEdition.com that racing “taught me how to push myself beyond boundaries that I haven’t even thought of before.”
