Soldier Wears Mascot Costume to Surprise Son at School After a Year Apart

After a year away from her son, a deployed soldier from Alabama surprised him at school in an emotional homecoming. Sergeant Desiree Lancey came disguised as the school mascot, an eagle. Kael Lancey ran to his mom as she removed the head of the costume. Teachers and the soldier's family were all in on the surprise. The emotional reunion between mother and son brought tears to the eyes of other students. Sergeant Lancey has been deployed to Kuwait for the past year.
