Thieves Are Robbing Houses Under Termite Exterminator Tents

If you have termites, exterminators may cover your house in a tent for fumigation. But some thieves are targeting these covered homes, even donning gas masks to deal with the toxic fumes. It happened to screenwriter Chloe King, who had $77,000 of her mother’s jewelry stolen by a thief who was seen rifling through her closet as the home was being treated for termites. She says Terminex, the company she hired, told her not to secure her valuables and that the house would be safe.
