United Pilots on Flight With Flaming Engine Failure Praised for Staying Cool

A veteran United Airlines pilot is being praised for keeping passengers calm as he safely landed a jet after one of its engines caught fire following takeoff in Denver, Colorado. United flight 328 had “an uncontained and catastrophic engine failure” which resulted in an engine bursting into flame midair. A couple captured alarming video showing the charred and exposed engine outside their window. Passenger Brett Guy also praised the pilot’s calm demeanor, saying it reassured him.
