USS The Sullivans, Named for 5 Brothers Killed in WWII, Is Slowly Sinking
April 19, 2022
A legendary Navy warship is in danger of sinking as legislators scramble to save it. The ship, called USS The Sullivans, is now a floating museum in Buffalo, New York. It was named after the five Sullivan brothers, who all lost their lives in World War II when the ship they were serving on together was torpedoed. Their story was portrayed in the 1944 movie “The Fighting Sullivans,” and was the inspiration for Steven Spielberg’s classic “Saving Private Ryan.” Granddaughter Kelly Sullivan spoke to Inside Edition.
