What Senator Al Franken Said in Apology to Leeann Tweeden
November 17, 2017
Senator Al Franken sent an apology to Leeann Tweeden for a photo showing him appearing to grope her. “I have tremendous respect for your work for USO and I am ashamed that my actions ruined that for you I am so sorry,” the letter read. The news anchor and former Playboy model read the apology Friday morning. She says after rejecting Franken's alleged advances in 2006 he spent the rest of the tour tormenting her with practical jokes and his abuse culminated in the now notorious photo.
