Is It Wise to Stop Catalytic Converter Thieves in the Act?

More than 60,000 catalytic converters are stolen in the United States every year, and the devices can fetch over $1,000. The fatal shooting of "General Hospital" star Johnny Wactor has called attention to the crime, after it came to light that Wactor interrupted a catalytic converter theft. Inside Edition’s Les Trent spoke to several people who have confronted converter thieves. But a sergeant with the Houston police department cautions against such confrontations.
