‘White Helmets’ Volunteers Rescue 4-Year-Old Girl From Well in Syria

There was a dramatic rescue attempt in Syria earlier this week, when a 4-year-old girl fell down a well. Members of the neutral Syrian Civil Defence in Al Bab City had to figure out how to get her out. They rigged up a mechanism to lower a man named Assaf al Assaf into the hole. Once he had descended, he had to negotiate the tight spot and locate the little girl, named Sumaiah. Finally, he heard her cries.
