When Sherry Yvonne Johnson was 11, she was forced to marry her rapist, who was 20. Sherry's story is horrifying, but it is not unique. Unable to advocate for themselves, children in forced marriages can suffer physically, mentally and emotionally. Sherry, who is now almost 60, continues to struggle as she comes to terms with her stolen childhood. She wants to make sure what happened to her doesn't happen to anybody else, starting with her home state of Florida.
