Elderly People Have Jewelry Stolen Off Their Necks: Police

The elderly are being targeted in jewelry scams. according to the NYPD, and they are  asking for help finding the trickster thieves. Authorities say “crews of thieves” have reportedly targeted elderly victims “often using children as a distraction.” The NYPD is now warning citizens to “Beware of scammers trying to steal your jewelry!” They say criminals may pretend to offer a gift or a blessing as a way to get close to people, or say they need cash and sell fake jewelry.
