    US State Department Says Brittney Griner Was ‘Wrongfully Detained’ in Russia

    For years, Brittney Griner has played overseas for Russia’s UMMC Ekaterinburg during the WNBA’s offseason. Since the beginning of this year, she has been detained there after Russian officials found marijuana on her at an airport. Now the 26th WNBA season has opened without one of their star players. The U.S. State Department says Griner is being wrongfully detained, as her colleagues show their support. Inside Edition Digital’s Stephanie Officer explains.
