Winter Sports Enthusiasts Slide Down Salt Hills in Egyptian City of Port Fouad
March 21, 2021
People in the Egyptian city of Port Fouad are taking advantage of the giant salt mountains there, turning them into sledding hills. To the casual observer, it looks like snow, and there’s no danger of it melting, of course. The salt crystals are big enough that you don’t need an actual sled, just a sturdy pair of pants. And if you can make it to Egypt, it’s free to salt-sled. The local government is encouraging it as a tourist activity.
