    Russian Journalist Who Stormed TV Newscast Is Now Working for German Media Company

    A Russian journalist whose anti-war protest was seen around the world has a new job. With a sign that read in part, “Don't believe the propaganda. They're lying to you here,” Marina Ovsyannikova interrupted a live television broadcast on Russian state-run network, Channel One, in March of 2022. Now, Die Welt has hired Marina Ovsyannikova as “a freelance correspondent, reporting from Ukraine and Russia.” Ovsyannikova says she sees it as her “duty as a journalist” to defend freedom.
