Simone Biles Shares Her Struggles With Landing Her Dismount

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles elaborated on why she chose to withdraw from the Olympic competitions in Tokyo in an Instagram story posted on Thursday night. The gold medalist said she has been struggling with what is called the “Twisties,” which inhibits her ability to “tell up from down,” making high flying moves dangerous for gymnasts. Former Olympic great Dominique Dawes says all gymnasts suffer the twisties at some point in their careers, and it can take weeks, months or even years to subside.
