    Why Gary Glitter Isn’t Being Paid for Song in ‘Joker’ Film

    Music is at the center of the latest controversy surrounding the movie “Joker.” In one of the film's pivotal scenes, Joaquin Phoenix, who plays the menacing main character, dramatically dances his way down some concrete stairs. Some viewers are outraged because the song he dances to was made by a convicted pedophile. The song is Gary Glitter's 1972 hit “Rock and Roll (Part 2).” Glitter is behind bars in Britain after being sentenced in 2015 to 16 years for sexually abusing three underage girls.
