Maryland Man Accused of Killing Pregnant Girlfriend Kills Himself in Prison

A Maryland man charged in the murder of his pregnant girlfriend has been found dead in his jail cell hours before opening arguments in his trial were due to begin. Tyler Tessier, 33, was accused of fatally shooting teacher Laura Wallen in the head in September 2017. Wallen was first reported missing when she didn't show up for the first day of school. For days, officials searched for her. Tessier even stood hand-in-hand with Wallen's parents to plead for her safe return.
