Campers Surrounded by Wildfire Saved by Helicopter After 11 Hours
September 8, 2020
Over the weekend, a nightmare situation unfolded in California, where a record heatwave and wildfires have devastated many areas. At least two million acres of land have burned, including a campground outside Fresno, where families found themselves quickly surrounded by flames. More than 200 campers were trapped in the Sierra National Forest. Jeremy Remmington ushered his family onto their boat, but he believed all was lost. After 11 hours, they were saved by National Guard helicopters.
